We are seeing an increase in card and account related fraud by text messaging and phone calls. We strongly advise you to NEVER CLICK LINKS in text messages or emails since they could contain malware that can infect your computer and steal your personal information. If you receive a text or email that you are questioning, find that company’s phone number from another source and call them directly. It is also a safe practice to NEVER give out personal information such as card numbers, account numbers, date of birth, and social security numbers. Keep in mind, a company will NEVER have you buy gift cards if you owe them money OR if they owe you some sort of refund and “overpaid you”. Remember, companies like Microsoft, Norton Anti-Virus and the IRS NEVER communicate by phone or text. For an extra layer of protection, make sure we have your correct contact information by verifying the information we have on file for your accounts with us. Contact our office IMMEDIATELY if you are questioning a recent call or text before acting if you are concerned.
